U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation approves USD 250 million in funding for South African PV project

The board of directors of the U.S. government’s Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) has approved up to USD 250 million in funding for a 60 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in South Africa.
SunEdison LLC (Beltsville, Maryland, U.S.) will build and operate the PV plant in the Free State province of South Africa, in collaboration with two South African companies. The project was secured through the nation’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Program (REIPP). Read more…
