| SAPVIA held it’s 14th Networking Event on 22 October 2014 at Protea Balalaika, Johannesburg. SAPVIA’s Chairperson, Davin Chown lead the day’s proceedings with an update on the Association’s activities and strategy going forward, followed by the Manufacturer’s Subcommittee Chair, Wido Schnabel who gave insight on recent developments. Thereafter a presentation by Sakkie Leimecke, Head: Energy, IE&T, Nedbank Capital on Nedbank’s experience and approach to Solar PV had the audience captivated. The third presentation on the day was led by Lidia Afonso, Project Manager: Southern Africa, GreenMax Sustainability & Finance, focusing on ‘Renewable Centre of Excellence focusing on Solar Technologies (RECE) to be set up inUpington (focusing on training programmes)‘ The presentation can be downloaded here. A final presentation on Local manufacture of string inverters by Frank Ellis, Business Development, TUB, finished off the day.
