SAPVIA partners with the RE Festival 2015

Following the great success of the first event last year, the Alternative Information & Development Center, the World Wide Fund for Nature South Africa and the City of Cape Town will present South Africa’s second renewable energy festival targeted at the public in Cape Town this year.
The event aims at educating the public about the benefits of renewable energy, the accessibility of alternative energy sources and will also focus on offering solutions to South Africa’s unemployment, energy and climate crises. It is supported by the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association, Fossil Free South African and other leading organisations who promote climate action and renewable energy uptake.
An event with a difference, visitors can look forward to a stellar music line up which sees hot South African musos’s jamming for renewables. People can get in the know by browsing interactive exhibits, educational seminars and hot topical public debates. There will be live entertainment throughout the day featuring Johnny Clegg, Hot Water, Jess Clegg, Gang of Instrumentals, Me & Mr Brown, Afro Tropica and Wood Works’. Festival-goers can also enjoy browsing the stalls at the craft market and sampling delicious foods available in the food court. No alcohol will be permitted at the event.
