The SAPVIA Industry Awards are back for their second year!
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) Industry Awards return for a second year to recognise the individuals, projects, and organisations driving innovation, growth, and meaningful impact across South Africa’s solar PV sector.
As the industry continues to evolve at pace, these awards shine a spotlight on excellence across the value chain, from technical achievement and project delivery to leadership, transformation, and emerging talent. They reflect the progress being made in advancing a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable energy future.
Last year, we celebrated the trailblazers, innovators, and leaders who are transforming South Africa’s solar PV landscape, recognising the people and projects setting new benchmarks for impact, excellence, and progress.
Now, we’re getting ready to do it all again… and raise the bar.
We invite you to recognise outstanding achievement by submitting nominations across the following award categories:
• Developer/IPP Excellence Award: Recognising an outstanding solar PV developer or IPP demonstrating excellence in originating, financing, and delivering high-quality projects, alongside innovation, leadership, and commitment to sustainability and community impact.
• Excellence in Energy Storage: Honouring a groundbreaking project, technology, or initiative advancing battery energy storage systems (BESS) and enabling greater renewable integration, grid reliability, and market innovation.
• Empowerment Through Skills Award: Celebrating organisations making exceptional contributions to skills development, workforce inclusivity, and the creation of a sustainable talent pipeline across the solar PV value chain.
• PV R&D Leadership Award: Recognising leading research and innovation—both technical and non-technical that drives measurable progress in the solar PV sector and supports real-world impact.
• SSEG Installer of the Year: Acknowledging installers who exemplify excellence in service delivery, safety, and technical capability in powering homes and businesses responsibly.
• Solar EPC Award: Recognising an EPC company that has demonstrated excellence in delivering utility-scale solar projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
• Solar PV Localisation Champion: Celebrating organisations strengthening local manufacturing, supply chain resilience, job creation, and industrial growth within South Africa’s solar sector.
• Visionary Executive Award: Honouring a chief executive whose leadership, strategic vision, and industry influence have driven outstanding organisational success.
• Woman Powering Solar Award: Recognising women who are leading, innovating, and shaping the future of South Africa’s solar PV industry while inspiring greater inclusivity and diversity.
