Sunny South Africa Attracting Solar Inverter Manufacturers

New Hampshire, USA — Two major manufacturers are looking to capitalize on the bur- geoning South African solar market by opening production centers in the country.
ABB plans to open a new inverter production line at its existing facilities in Johannesburg in 2014. The line for its PVS800 range of central inverters will have a production capacity of approximately 500 MW per year. It will produce 630-kW, 875-kW and 1000-kW central inverters. The company already produces solar inverters in Estonia, India and China. Read more
