SAPVIA held it’s 16th Networking Event on 18 March 2015 at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg.   For the first time SAPVIA coordinated a video-conference link in order to engage with the Cape Town membership base who were unable to be in Johannesburg on the day.  SAPVIA’s CEO, Moeketsi Thobela lead the day’s proceedings with an update on the Association’s activities and strategy going forward, followed by a very informative presentation from Surprise Zwane, Director: Strategic Development Support (SIPs), Department of Environmental Affairs on “Results of the recently completed wind and solar PV Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)” which can be downloaded here

The final presentation on the day was led by Dr Markus Pöller, Consultant, Southern-African German Energy Programme (SAGEN) accompanied by Kevin Leask, Chief Engineer: Strategic Grid Planning, Eskom on the “Analysis of options for the future allocation of PV farms in South Africa” which can be downloaded here.
