SAPVIA, SAWEA and SASTELA to meet with the DAFF

The South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA), the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) and the South African Solar Thermal and Electricity Association (SASTELA), have requested a meeting with the DAFF to discuss the application of, and the consequences from, the Subdivision of Agricultural Land Act (Act No 70 of 1970) and the Conservation of Agricultural Land Act (Act No 43 of 1983) in respect of the development of renewable energy plants on agricultural land and the legal uncertainties in respect of the application of these Acts, including the application of Act 70/1970 in respect of leases for whole agricultural land parcels designated for renewable energy projects.
The meeting will take place on the 8th of November. The agenda for the meeting will be posted on the website prior to the meeting, and the minutes will be made available shortly after the meeting.
