Renewables announcement postponed owing to DRC diary clash

The announcement of South Africa’s next set of preferred renewable-energy bidders has been postponed from the scheduled date of October 29, owing to the fact that Energy Minister Dikobe Ben Martins and his senior officials are participating in President Jacob Zuma’s State visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
No new date has been confirmed for the announcement, which follows the third bid-submission round under the Department of Energy’s (DoE’s) Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). However, a new date is expected to be announced soon. Read more
