EIB to provide R1.1bn in funding for Northern Cape CSP project

State-owned power utility Eskom and long-term lending institution, the European Investment Bank (EIB), have signed a new R1.1-billion, or €75-million, finance contract to support a 100 MW concentrating solarpower (CSP) plant, to be established near Upington, in the Northern Cape.
The CSP project was being cofinanced by the African Development Bank, Agence Française de Développement, the Clean Technology Fund, German government-owned development bank KfW and the World Bank. Read more…
