Development of sustainable energy systems in a number of African countries

Ea Energy Analyses has carried out a number of projects in several African countries, focusing on the development of energy systems and markets, and the integration of renewable energy.
In South Africa, Ea Energy Analyses assisted the South African government in developing the regulatory framework and tender documents to encourage investment in renewable energy from independent power producers. Ea Energy Analyses has also developed a model of the South African electricity system to determine the value of investments in renewable energy production as well as strategic transmission investments. Subsequently, Ea, in collaboration with SEAS-NVE and Energinet.dk, held skills development programmes for Eskom concerning grid connection of renewable energy projects, integration of renewable energy in the power system and electricity trade with neighbouring countries.
