Thank You for a Remarkable Year – Season’s Greetings from SAPVIA

Dear Valued Members,

As 2025 draws to a close, I am proud to take time to reflect on what has been a year of recovery and progress for
South Africa’s solar PV sector. As an industry, we stand proud of our role in the country’s diversified energy mix,
increased installed capacity, and deepening investor confidence across residential, commercial and industrial, and
utility-scale segments.

This year, SAPVIA played a central role in shaping policy and regulatory reforms. The finalisation of the Integrated
Resource Plan (IRP 2025), projecting 30 GW of solar PV by 2039, and Cabinet’s adoption of the South African
Renewable Energy Masterplan were significant milestones. Through active engagement with government,
regulators, and industry partners, we ensured that the voice of our members was heard and that solar PV remains
at the forefront of South Africa’s energy future.

We also celebrated industry achievements through the launch of the SAPVIA Industry Awards, strengthened
continental and global partnerships, and advanced transformation with the Gender Diversity Guideline launched in
October in collaboration with SAWEA. Skills development remained a cornerstone, with 100 new PV GreenCard
Installer graduates through an ABSA and NBI partnership, expanding opportunities for young people and
strengthening our certified installer base nationwide.

These are but a few of the milestones made possible by the dedication of our members, partners, and colleagues. I
extend heartfelt appreciation to our Governing Committee for their strategic leadership, to our Working Group
Chairpersons, the broader leadership and members for their technical expertise, and to the Secretariat for their
tireless commitment. Most importantly, I thank every single member who contributed to the sector’s momentum
this year. You are the heartbeat of this industry.

As we look ahead to 2026, our priorities are clear: to advance the broadening of the electricity market, strengthen
localisation, expand participation, deepen workforce capability, and accelerate the unlocking of grid capacity. South
Africa’s energy future will be built through partnership, collaboration, and collective ambition. SAPVIA will continue
to champion your interests every step of the way.

I wish you and your families a safe, peaceful, and restorative festive season. May the holidays bring rest, reflection,
and meaningful time with loved ones. We look forward to entering the new year refreshed, energised, and ready to
shape a brighter future together.
