Our client, one of the top Solar EPC firms in South Africa is looking for you to join their site-based team in the Northern Cape. The company has an impressive track record in the C&I space, developing a number of projects across South Africa, even extending to Africa, and is needing a Solar Site Representative who is willing to take on a challenging role of coordinating quality inspections with the sub-contractors and other stakeholders.
You will be responsible for participating in internal and external audits, ensuring that everything is above board and ready for the project to be completed within the specified timelines and allocated budget. You will find yourself reporting to the Project Manager, someone whom you will need to communicate effectively with to update on the project progress and liaise with on any quality issues. In addition, the perfect candidate will be involved with site logistics plans, tracking changes to the design/construction work to adjust budget projections and ensure that the various materials are in stock and ordered. This role requires a depth of knowledge and understanding in the field in order to foresee obstacles and risks before they are a problem. Therefore, the chosen candidate should have previous onsite construction experience up to 8 years and have a degree or two under their belt.
Other duties that the Solar Site Representative can be expected to perform include but are not limited to distributing the relevant QA/OC documentation to site subcontractors, monitoring the quality control plan, creating and maintaining registers and schedules and approving progress certificate quantities to the Project Manager. The ideal candidate will display strong leadership skills, be proactive in nature and have a keen eye for details to make sure that quality standards of the project and the client are met.
