Request for Member Inputs on ITAC Solar PV Module Rebate Applications
Dear SAPVIA Member,
As you are aware, ITAC has implemented a 10% import duty on solar PV modules (tariff subheading 8541.43). To alleviate constraints from limited domestic manufacturing capacity, a rebate provision (460.16/8541.43/01.06) was introduced, allowing eligible imports of PV modules to enter the country duty-free under specific conditions.
SAPVIA is engaging with members to better understand your experiences with the rebate application process and allocations, in preparation for an industry-wide engagement session with ITAC in September 2025; date to be confirmed.
