PV GreenCard launch Event

SAPVIA’s PV GreenCard programme was launched on the 26th of May 2016 at the maxx-solar training academy in Johannesburg with the much appreciated support of our event sponsors: Enel Energy SA; IBC Solar South Africa and Jinko Solar SA.
What is the PV GreenCard progamme you ask? It is a safety certification and training programme for PV installers, designed to protect the integrity of the rooftop PV industry, as well as to empower the end customer.
The PV GreenCard itself is a comprehensive documentation of the PV system being installed that will be accepted by the customer. The installer will use the PV GreenCard to declare compliance with relevant standards as well as safety guidelines for the installation of the PV system. This in turn, will provide investor confidence & commitment from participating industry players. In a nutshell the PV GreenCard is an industry led quality label which is inclusive in nature and becomes the key to ensure a high standard of quality for small-scale solar PV installations.
The launch event was a great success with the speaker line-up including a key-note address by DoE Director General, Nelisiwe Magubane. Our other presenters included BSW’s Jorg Mayer, GenEnergy’s Busi Nxumalo, GreenCape’s Ursula Wellmann, SARETEC’s Sven Pietrangeli, Solareff’s Devilliers Botha, SAPVIA’s Programme Manager: Niveshen Govender, SAPVIA’s Chairperson: Davin Chown and SAPVIA MANCO representative Ayanda Nakedi.
