☀ Total Solar PV project registrations cross the 6GW the Mark!

Dear Members,

NERSA recently released the September statistics for registered generation facilities in South Africa.

The following are insight from the statistics:

·    The total registered capacity increased by 933MW to 9662MW.

·    The total number of registered facilities increased by 47 from 1609 to 1656.

·    The registered capacity of Solar PV projects increased from 5547MW to 6090MW.

·    The share of Solar PV projects of total registered capacity decreased by 0.6% to 63%.

·    The registered capacity of projects 100MW and larger increased to 6299MW. Solar PV projects account for 54.4% and Wind projects 45.56%, respectively.

·    The registered capacity of projects 10MW and larger likely designed for wheeling increased to 7721MW. Solar PV projects account for 57.7% and Wind projects 42.3%, respectively.
