Our client, a major player in the renewable energy game, is searching for a qualified HSE Officer with experience in implementing and monitoring environmental, health and safety risk management while also ensuring the continuous improvement and adherence of these measures. The ideal candidate would have a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, or any other relevant field of study alongside being with the SACPCMP. These qualifications will not only place you at the top of our “MUST SEE” list but it will also allow you to be able to conduct meaningful environmental assessments and provide detailed reports with recommendations and action items to improve the overall project.
This challenging yet fulfilling role will see you assisting Project Managers, Environmental Control Officers and subcontractors in obtaining the necessary environmental authorisations and permits. For this reason, it is imperative to be able to communicate well and effectively drive your point home. You will find yourself based in the Northern Cape, working on a 12MW project. You will frequently use your knowledge of environmental management and construction to ensure that all activities are recorded for creating method statements. You will handle the weekly inspection of the construction site to address any issues of concern and note them down in a register for further discussion with the construction team. Further, conducting and monitoring audits is another important aspect of this position as you will need to ensure that the outcome adheres with the EMPr.
