Deadline Extension for the 2025 South African Renewable Energy Grid Survey (SAREGS) | 15 August 2025
Dear Valued Members,
Thank you to all participants who have completed the 2025 SAREGS survey. The strong response rate to date highlights the sector’s ongoing commitment to contributing valuable insights that inform strategic and proactive transmission infrastructure planning across the region.
Following several requests, the deadline for submissions has been extended to close of business on 15 August 2025.
If you have not yet submitted your response, we urge you to do so before the deadline. Your contributions are instrumental in guiding the future of energy infrastructure development.
Survey Background information:
This annual survey provides the renewable energy industry with an invaluable opportunity to inform and influence grid expansion and planning that will benefit both REIPPPP, private generation as well as wheeling investment in new generation capacity.
The survey submissions will be utilised by Eskom Transmission Planning to enhance and inform future Grid Capacity Connection Assessment (GCCA) and Transmission Development Plan (TDP) updates. The submitted data will be consolidated, aggregated, and summarised by the Eskom Transmission Planning Division, to provide Eskom with valuable insights for grid access demand and inform grid strengthening and expansion planning.
