Cape Town, South Africa, 13 November 2017. The PV mounting system supplier Schletter South Africa (Pty) Ltd. has a new Managing Director. As of November, Trevor DeVries is heading the company that serves the sub-Saharan Africa business of the globally active Schletter Group.
„South Africa and the sub-Saharan region with their enormous potential play a key role in our future growth strategy“, said the Schletter Group’s CEO Tom Graf. „We are glad that in Trevor DeVries we have found a very experienced manager, who not only knows the industry but also how to develop a growing market. He will be instrumental in further pushing forward our growing business in the region.“ DeVries took up his post as Managing Director of Schletter South Africa (Pty) Ltd. on 6 November.
DeVries joins the Schletter Group from Canadian Solar where he was responsible for developing their business in Africa, focusing on mini-grids and hybrid solutions. He worked on government driven renewable energy and independent power producer projects as well as on PV projects (private, commercial and industrial). Prior to joining Canadian Solar, he was Managing Director of AEG Power Solutions in Africa and was responsible for launching and developing AEG’s solar business in Africa.
As one of the leading manufacturers of PV mounting systems, the Schletter Group operates in all major solar markets worldwide. The company has had a presence in South Africa since 2011. Since 2013, the company is based in Cape Town serving the entire sub-Saharan market from this hub.
