Solar PV in South Africa is in the process of transitioning from the utility scale market into the residential, commercial and industrial (RCI) market segments. The South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) – the advocate for Solar PV in South Africa – is supporting the development of mechanisms to ensure the responsible and sustainable installation and operation of roof-top PV.
On 28 October 2016 a stakeholder engagement workshop is being held, the purpose of which is to provide an update on the PV GreenCard Project to all affected and interested parties, as well as to gain insight on the direction of the project from a broad range of stakeholders.
