Eskom energy crisis far from over

JOHANNESBURG – Although South Africa’s power grid has been stabilised, Eskom says the energy crisisis far from over.
The power utility has once again pleaded with consumers to use electricity sparingly.
Eskom says the next two years are expected to place strain on its energy supply as it awaits the completion of two new power stations.
Earlier this month load shedding was rolled out across the country after wet coal supplies slowed down energy production.
Eskom’s Andrew Etzinger says, “We’re continuing to ask businesses and home owners to please use electricity conservatively. In doing so we certainly will restore the reserve margin to a level where we can avoid load shedding permanently.”  Read more…
